8/20/2026: IMPORTANT UPDATE: Rochester RHIO Announces Partnership with HealtheConnections.
Rochester RHIO has announced a partnership with HealtheConnections as part of its HIE transition planning. No action is required at this time, and participants should continue using Rochester RHIO services as they do today. Migration activities have begun and will continue through the remainder of the year. Additional guidance, timelines, and training resources will be shared as plans are finalized.

New Public Health Information Available
In RHIO Explore, a Deceased checkbox is available on patient records. If a person has passed way in the last 30 days, the Deceased checkbox should be flagged if the notification is received from one of 11 counties in our region.
Rochester RHIO is receiving public health death notifications from 11 counties, including:
- Chemung
- Genesee
- Livingston
- Monroe
- Ontario
- Orleans
- Schuyler
- Seneca
- Steuben
- Wayne
- Yates
If a person falls outside of these counties, then the box will not be checked in Explore.
Use Case Benefits
- Indicates to authorized Explore users of patients who have passed away.
- Provides information needed to support internal processes like administration, billing, care management, and quality reporting.
- Authorized users may want to send a sympathy note to affected family.
